Ranchi, Sept.20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nominated veteran BJP leader and former MP, Karia Munda, as a trustee of the PM Cares Fund.
A letter to Munda by PM’s advisor Amit Khare inviting the former to participate in the meeting on September 21 at 4.30pm informed this. Munda has been given the option to attend meetings in a hybrid mode according to his convenience.
The PM Cares Fund was set up keeping in mind the need for dedicated national fund with the primary objective of tackling any kind of emergency situation, which over a period of time could be used to find a long term institutional capacity-building of the nation to effectively respond to such emergencies or distress that may arise and to bring relief to the public at large.
The Prime minister uses to be chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fund. During the pandemic, the fund came as a great help to save lives.
