New Delhi, Feb 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tribute to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers who died in a terrorist attack on their convoy in Pulwama in 2019, saying their bravery and heroic sacrifice inspire every Indian to work for a strong and prosperous nation.
“I pay homage to all those martyred in Pulwama on this day in 2019 and recall their outstanding service to our nation. Their bravery and supreme sacrifice motivates every Indian to work towards a strong and prosperous country,” PM Modi tweeted.

Notably, in the south Kashmir district, 40 CRPF soldiers were killed in an attack by Pakistan-sponsored militants.
On February 26, 2019, the Indian Air Force carried out a retaliatory airstrike in Pakistan’s Balakot, targeting terrorist sites.
