New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu greeted the nation on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, urging citizens to embrace unity, compassion, and hope.

“Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr. May this festival enhance the spirit of hope, harmony and kindness in our society. May there be joy and success in all your endeavours. Eid Mubarak!” PM Modi shared on X.

President Murmu echoed similar sentiments, saying, “I extend my greetings to all my fellow countrymen, especially my Muslim brothers and sisters, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. This festival strengthens the spirit of brotherhood and conveys the message of compassion, goodwill, and charity. I pray that this festival brings peace, prosperity, and happiness to everyone’s life and instills in everyone’s hearts the spirit of moving forward on the path of goodness.”

BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain also offered his wishes, emphasising peace and national unity. “I extend my best wishes to the people of the country on the occasion of Eid. Today, people have peacefully offered Namaz everywhere. Eid is the day to forget everything and hug each other. I pray that there should be unity in the country and that our country progresses,” he said.

Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, was celebrated with large congregational prayers across India on Monday morning, following the sighting of the crescent moon.
