New Delhi, March 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese on Friday discussed the subject of temple damage by Khalistani forces. Following vandalism occurrences, PM Modi said that the Australian PM has guaranteed the protection of the Indian community.

With an emphasis on enhancing overall bilateral interaction in areas of trade and investment, defence, and essential minerals, PM Modi and Anthony Albanese had extensive discussions.

“We discussed maritime security in the Indo-Pacific and ways to enhance mutual security. We discussed mutual cooperation to develop reliable, strong global supply chains,” PM Modi said after talks with Anthony Albanese.

Following a number of high-level meetings and a ministerial tour exchange between the two sides in 2022 and 2023, Albanese paid a visit. He is making his first trip to India since taking office as prime minister in May of last year. Australia’s prime minister last travelled to India in 2017.

“Australia and India are great friends. We are partners and we are building that partnership even stronger each and every day,” Albanese said after he was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
