New Delhi, Jan 23: On the 125th anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a hologram statue of the statesman at India Gate, marking the start of the Republic Day celebrations.
The Republic Day celebrations will begin on January 23 this year, rather than January 24, to coincide with Netaji’s birth date. At p.m., Prime Minister Modi will unveil the hologram statue of Netaji at an event at India Gate in Delhi.
“At a time when the entire nation is marking the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am glad to share that his grand statue, made of granite, will be installed at India Gate. This would be a symbol of India’s indebtedness to him,” PM Modi tweeted.
The 28-feet-long hologram statue will be installed under a canopy, which used to have a statue of King George V that was removed in 1968, the Prime Minister’s he hologram statue will be powered by a 30,000 lumens 4K projector.
According to the PMO statement, an invisible, high gain, 90% clear holographic screen has been created in such a way that it is not apparent to visitors. To create the illusion of a hologram, a 3D image of Netaji will be displayed on the screen. In a statement, the Office said.
A 25-foot-long granite statue of Netaji will eventually replace the hologram statue.
PM Modi will also confer the inaugural ‘Subhas Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskars’ at the event to recognise the contribution and service rendered by individuals and organisations in the field of disaster management.
For the years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, a total of seven awards will be conferred for in the investiture ceremony. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 51 lakh and a certificate in case of an institution and Rs 5 lakh and a certificate in case of an individual.
