Ranchi, Nov.1: The Indian government has launched a rapid vaccination campaign to combat Coronavirus infection. Despite this, vaccination drives are still moving at a snail’s pace in many locations. On November 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with the district magistrates of 40 such districts throughout the country, including those in Jharkhand, will assess the vaccination.
The central government has already launched the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign on Monday (Nov.1), in which health officials would go door-to-door to vaccinate people.
PM Modi will have a video conferencing meeting with districts with low vaccination coverage on November 3 at 12 p.m., shortly after coming home from the G20 summit and the COP26. Districts with less than 50% coverage of the first dose of corona vaccinations and even less coverage of the second dosage will be represented at the meeting.
The PM will interact with the District Magistrates (DMs) of over 40 districts with low vaccination coverage in Jharkhand, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya and other states. The Chief Ministers of these states will also be present in this meeting. It is to be known that a total of 106 crore doses of corona vaccine have been given to the people in the country. Despite this, there are 40 districts where less than 50% people have taken the corona vaccine.
Before the announcement of this meeting of PM Modi, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said that more than 10 crore people have not yet taken the second dose of the vaccine. That is why the government is going to launch the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ scheme. This will be a mega vaccination campaign, which will last for a whole month. Under this scheme, health workers will go door-to-door and administer vaccine doses to people.
