New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on a landmark visit to Poland, made a compelling call for Polish companies to engage in the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ initiative. His visit, marking the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in 45 years, underscores the growing importance of strategic ties between the two nations.

PM Modi met with his Polish counterpart, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, at the Federal Chancellery in Warsaw, where they held extensive discussions on enhancing bilateral relations. The talks focused on collaboration in critical sectors such as food processing, urban infrastructure, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence (AI).

“I am delighted to have met my friend, Prime Minister @donaldtusk. Our discussions covered the full spectrum of India-Poland relations. We are particularly eager to deepen connections in areas such as food processing, urban infrastructure, renewable energy, and AI,” PM Modi shared on social media platform X following his meeting.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed his honor in hosting PM Modi, especially as the visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. He emphasized the growing significance of the relationship, not just for the two countries but for the entire region and potentially the world.

“This visit, on the eve of our 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties, is a significant milestone. It highlights the increasingly strong relations between our countries, which hold importance not only for our region but also on a global scale,” Donald Tusk stated.

The discussions also covered expanding cooperation in defense and security, with both leaders expressing mutual interest in these areas. PM Modi highlighted the importance of a recently agreed social security agreement, which he noted would benefit the citizens of both nations.

“PM @donaldtusk and I also explored ways to broaden our cooperation in defense and security. Additionally, it is gratifying that we have finalized a social security agreement, which will be advantageous for our people,” PM Modi remarked in another post on X.

This visit marks a significant step in strengthening the India-Poland relationship, with PM Modi being the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the country since Morarji Desai’s trip in 1979.

Following his engagements in Poland, PM Modi is set to continue his diplomatic tour with a visit to Ukraine. He will travel to Ukraine by train, with the journey expected to take approximately 10 hours.
