New Delhi, Sep 26: In his remarks at the ‘Rozgar Mela’ on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the importance of government employees in the country’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. He also emphasised the need for them to always put the needs of the citizens first.
“The country has resolved to become a developed India by 2047. In the next few years, we are going to be the third-largest economy… In this period, every government employee is going to play a huge role. You always need to work with a citizen-first spirit,” PM Modi stated as he digitally presented nearly 51,000 appointment letters to candidates in different state and central government departments.
“You are part of a generation which has grown up with technology…You need to use the technology in your work domain,” PM Modi said.
On October 22 of last year, Prime Minister Modi officially began the campaign to create 10 lakh government employment by launching the “Rozgar Mela.”
PM Modi stated that his administration employs a New Mindset, Content Monitoring, Mission Mode Implementation and Mass Participation approach to its work in order to attain greater objectives.
“In 9 years, the government has implemented policies on a mission mode.”
“In the past nine years, you have witnessed how technological transformation can ease governance. Earlier, people used to stand in queues at the booking counters of railway stations. Technology has overcome this problem. Aadhaar cards, digital lockers and eKYC have eliminated the complexity of documentation,” he added.
PM Modi stated that all newly hired government officials have the responsibility of carrying out the government’s policies as he handed out appointment letters.
“When millions of youth like you join government services, the speed and scale of implementing policies also increase,” he said.
The recruitment campaign covers state governments, UTs and central government departments.
The new hires who were appointed today will work for the government in a number of Ministries/Departments, including the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Posts, the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, the Department of Atomic Energy, the Department of Revenue, the Department of Higher Education, the Department of Atomic Energy and others.
