Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Gujarat on Saturday for a one-day visit, beginning his tour in Surat, where he reviewed the progress of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR) project. From there, he travelled to Dediapada in Narmada district, where he performed prayers at the Pandori Mata temple, revered as the family deity (Kuldevi) of the tribal communities across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Modi was seen dressed in traditional tribal attire during the visit.

Worship And Tribal Outreach

At the Yahamogi Devmogara Temple, PM Modi performed a traditional puja to Pandori Mata, highlighting the deep cultural connection of tribal communities with their heritage. Following the ritual, he took part in the “Prime Minister’s Janjatiya Nyay Maha Abhiyan” and the “Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkars Abhiyan”, under which he inaugurated the Grih Pravesh (housewarming) ceremony for over one lakh newly built homes for tribal families.

Roadshow And Birsa Munda Tribute

Modi led a 4-km-long roadshow in Dediapada, where thousands from the tribal community gathered along the streets to greet him with traditional music and dance. After the roadshow, he attended the 150th birth anniversary celebration of freedom fighter Birsa Munda, paying floral tributes to the tribal icon revered as “Dharti Aaba.”

Development Projects Worth ₹9,700 Crore Launched

The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹9,700 crore, focusing on infrastructure, housing, and tribal welfare in southern Gujarat. Before concluding his visit, PM Modi was scheduled to meet Bihari residents at Surat Airport, where 10,000–15,000 people were expected to welcome him. Union Ministers C.R. Patil and Harsh Sanghavi were also present at the event.
