New Delhi, Sept.29: The Central government has given its approval to the PM POSHAN scheme on Wednesday, which will provide mid-day meals to more than 11.2 lakh kids in government and government-aided schools across the country. Union Minister Anurag Thakur explained that the scheme will last for five years and that Rs 1.31 lakh crores will be invested in the project.
The PM POSHAN scheme would also replace the present Midday Meal Scheme, according to Anurag Thakur. He stated that the initiative will be implemented in collaboration with state governments, but that the Central Government will make the largest contribution.
Furthermore, the Union Cabinet also authorised the doubling of the Nimach-Ratlam railway line, which would cost Rs 1,095.88 crore, and the Rajkot-Kanalus railway line, which will cost Rs 1,080.58 crore.
It has also approved a Rs 4,400 crore investment in ECGC Ltd. over five years to help exporters and banks. According to the government, the measure will result in the creation of 59 lakh new employment, including 2.6 lakh in the official sector.
The continuation of the National Export Insurance Account (NEIA) plan, as well as a grant-in-aid infusion of Rs 1,650 crores over a five-year period has also received the government’s nod. As a result of this change, the NEIA will be able to finance project exports worth up to Rs. 33,000 crores.
