Ranchi, Nov 26: The Special PMLA court of Prabhat Kumar Sharma has rejected the bail petition of the illegal stone mining accused Pankaj Mishra. Well-placed sources said that the court rejected his request for regular bail on the ground that allegations against him are very serious in nature and that he can tamper with the investigation.

Pankaj Mishra is the MLA representative of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The Enforcement Directorate which is investigating this case has filed a prosecution complaint against Pankaj Mishra, power broker Prem Prakash and local criminal Sahibganj Bacchu Yadav.

Meanwhile, well-placed sources said that the agency would soon submit a detailed report to the court regarding how Pankaj Mishra under judicial custody interfered in the investigation and made phone calls from the RIMS paying ward.

Besides, the agency is also examining CCTV footage of the RIMS to ascertain who else visited Pankaj Mishra at RIMS with authorization. Well-placed sources said that CCTV footage is in the form of 5000 video clips. The ED is examining whether these footage were tampered to hide the facts.
