They went to Bihar’s Amas from where they caught one of the members of the gang who was identified as Dharmender Chowdhury and recovered two brass plates, one cell phone and a bag from him.

According to the ASP, this gang belongs to Bihar’s Rohtas and Gaya districts. Their modus operandi was to commit dacoity in houses/ dhabas located beside the NH-98 here in Jharkhand’s Palamu.

He further said the gang committed three episodes of dacoity in a span of just one month.  The first dacoity was committed on September 1. Two more dacoities were committed in October.

Two dacoities were committed by the gang under the Nawa Bazar police station and one dacoity under the Hariharganj police station, added K Vijay Shankar. They looted property worth thousands of rupees. They even looted the house of Raj Kumar Bhuiyan.

This gang had a typical modus operandi. It used to lay hands on even the smallest things like LED bulbs of the households. The ASP said that in one such dacoity, this gang looted two brass plates.

Members of this gang used to do a reconnaissance of the houses irrespective of their economic status and then used to rob the family by first seizing their cell phones and shutting the doors of the house from outside before leaving the victims.
