Police arrest TPC area commander in Chatra, recover AK-47

Ranchi, Oct.25: In a major breakthrough, police in Chatra today arrested the area commander of extremist organisation, TPC, Shravan Oraon with an assault rifle, AK-47, and 20 rounds of ammunition along with his two aides, Shravan Kumar Singh and Harjeet Yadav, from Gosaidih under Simaria police station area.

 

The success came after a vehicle was intercepted on a tip-off suggesting Oraon is on his way to Gosaidih in Chatra with his family and a section of his friends from Gaya in Bihar to the superintendent of police of the district Rakesh Ranjan.

 

Oraon is associated with regional committee member Akram Ganjhu. Two FIRs are registered against him at Kunda police station in the Chatra district.
