Ranchi, Sept.8: In the second police action against protesters, police resorted to lathi-charge in order to disperse a group of Ajsu party workers marching towards the residence of the chief minister for the demand of 27 percent reservation to the backward class community.

The Incident took place near Ranchi College football ground when the protestors led by Giridih MP Chandra Prakash Choudhary and Silli MLA Sudesh Mahto attempted to march towards the residence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren despite administrative restrictions.

Lalpur police station officer-in-charge Arvind Kumar confirmed the incident but said the minor force was used.

“It was a minor scuffle in which police and Ajsu workers both sustained minor injuries.  There is no report of serious injury in the incident,” OC Kumar said.
