Dhanbad  Jan 15: Giridih police recovered the body of a 10-year-old boy, who was reportedly abducted three days ago, from a well in Charchara village under Jamua police station, around 28.5 km away from district headquarters this morning.

The boy has been identified as Love Kumar Raja, son of Rajkumar Sharma, the resident of Charchara village.

The boy had been missing since January 13 from his village. His father had informed Jamua police after he failed to trace him in the  surrounding villages.

Inspector of  Jamua police station Navin kumar Singh told media persons that a team under SDPO Mukesh Mahto was constituted to investigate the incident after the father of the boy received a ransom call from the kidnappers in the evening on Thursday.

Though father of the boy refused to reveal the ransom amount demanded by the kidnappers, he said that he had no enmity with any person in the village who could take such a drastic step.

Today morning, the villagers traced the body of the boy in a well and duly informed the police who then sent the body to district Sadar hospital for post-mortem.

After recovery of the body, police have taken seven youths in custody for interrogation in this connection. They are being interrogated at Giridih police headquarters.

“Police would soon resolve the murder mystery by arresting the real kidnappers involved in it,” said Inspector Navin Kumar Singh.

Villagers said that since police had mounted pressure on the kidnappers by carrying out continuous raids, they (kidnappers) might have killed the boy to hide their identity when their ransom call conspiracy failed.
