Ranchi, Nov.5: Police has recovered bodies of two people (aged 35-40 years) from Lodhma crossing bridge near Ring Road under Nagri police station area in the city outskirts on Saturday morning.
According to sources, the victims are labourers. It is suspected that they were beaten to death at a different place and then dumped beside the road going towards Karra.
The officer-in-charge of Nagri police station is on his way to the spot along with SP (rural) Naushad Alam.
Alam has confirmed the recoveries saying that the bodies were yet to be identified.
“We are making every effort to identify the bodies with the help of locals. More information will only be available after proper investigation,” he said.
When asked about the murder weapon, Naushad Alam said: “No fire arm was used. Apparently they were beaten with ‘laathi’ and strangled using rope.”
According to the sources, the situation at the spot is peaceful for now. More information is awaited.
