Ranchi, Nov.25: The city police today recovered a partially decomposed body of a girl near the bridge of Amravati Colony, which is on the border of the Doranda and Chutia police station area.

The body has not been identified so far. Police sent it for autopsy at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).

Officer-in-charge of Doranda police station Ramesh Kumar confirmed the recovery saying at the time of recovery it was noticed that the head had been separated from the body.

“We are not sure whether the separation between head and body was due to decomposition or due to some other reason,” OC Kumar said.

As the body recovered, people of the locality appeared terrified.

“Two days ago criminals shot dead a person at Edalhatu. Prior to this, police recovered the body of a youth from the river. Now the body of the girl has been recovered,” a locality resident said, expressing his concern over the deteriorating law and order in Ranchi.
