Ranchi: On the occasion of Police Remembrance Day on Monday morning, a solemn tribute was paid to the brave martyrs at Ranchi Police Line. The ceremony commemorated the heroes from Ranchi and across Jharkhand who sacrificed their lives for the internal security of the country. Senior officials, including Ranchi SSP Chandan Sinha, were present to pay respects and offer condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.
SSP Chandan Sinha addressed the gathering, stating, “It is a matter of pride to die for the nation while performing one’s duty, although the loss of these martyrs can never be forgotten.” He further saluted the martyrs during the event, reflecting on the significance of this day.
He highlighted the events of October 21, 1959, when CRPF officer Karam Singh and 20 of his comrades were martyred during an attack by Chinese forces at Hot Springs, Ladakh. Since then, October 21 has been observed as Police Remembrance Day to honor the brave soldiers who have laid down their lives in the line of duty over the past year.
City SP Rajkumar Mehta, along with other senior police officers, were also present to offer their tributes.
