KUMUD JENAMANI

Jamshedpur, July 26: While the Bangladeshi infiltrators’ issue gaining momentum in the state and beyond as the administration lacks any foolproof way to screen a suspected infiltrator, the East Singhbhum district police have evolved a way out.

From now onwards, the police here in the steel city and elsewhere in the district will get the credential of a suspected Bangladeshi infiltrator checked by getting the burial records of the suspect’s forefathers.

But the police action will follow only on the basis of specific information about the suspect and not spontaneously.

“Getting burial records of a suspected Bangladesh infiltrator is a viable and foolproof way to detect such elements. We will follow the way to detect such infiltrators act the East Singhbhum district but only on specific information, ” said senior SP, Prabhat Kumar while talking about to lagatar24.com

Kumar on being asked revealed that the East Singhbhum district police has also a cell for Bangladeshi infiltrators detection and deportation purpose set up on a circular from the Union Home Ministry in 2014-15.

“In East Singhbhum district also one such cell had been set up,  but I cannot say offhand whether any Bangladeshi infiltrator was caught during this period, ” the senior police officer said.

Kumar, however, pointed out that in the year 2018 when he was posted as city SP in Jamshedpur, he had dealt with a criminal case involving a Bangladeshi infiltrator under the Telco thana area.

According to sources in the police, though the Union Home Ministry had taken the Bangladeshi infiltrators issue on a top priority and ensured a special cell for the purpose district-wise, not a single infiltrator could be detected here in the East Singhbhum like any other district in Jharkhand.

And only reason behind the failure is being all the infiltrators are equipped with Aadhaar cards and voter I-cards which shield them from getting screened as ‘infiltrator.’

The Aadhaar cards and voters I-cards are arranged by the sympathizers for the infiltrators on the fake address of Murshidabad district of West Bengal.

The number of Bangladeshi infiltrators is increasing in the region, posing danger to local residents as they not only stay here with impunity by working at a low wage, especially in the building construction sites but also remain indulged in criminal activities also.

Suspected Bangladeshi infiltrators are staying in dingy rented houses in peripheral areas of the city and also at places like Sastrinagar in Kadma, Bairjhabra as well as Nirmal Bustee in Sonari, Jharkhand Buster in Parsudih and Mango area.
