Patna, Jan 11: Farmer’s protest in Buxar for compensation for land acquisition for a thermal power plant on Wednesday descended into violence. Villagers demanding a better price for the land being acquired for Chausa Power Plant attacked a police party and set a car on fire.
The police used a lathi-charge to try and contain the situation, but when the locals started acting violently, they had no choice but to start shooting.

During the altercations, four cops were hurt. More police officers have been stationed nearby.
