Ranchi, May 13: The Enforcement Directorate on Friday separately questioned IAS Pooja Singhal, charted accountant Suman Singh, husband Abhishek Jha and Ranchi based builder Alok Sarawgi about the sale and purchase of land at Bariatu where the Pulse Hospital was constructed.
Notably, Alok Sarawgi’s residence on Kanke road was searched by the agency on Thursday morning. The agency officials also confiscated some documents for examinations.
Alok Sarawgi was summoned for questioning last night. He further turned up at the ED office to join the probe. Alok is learnt to have told the agency that he purchased land from one Rungta and sold it out to Abhishek Jha who purchased land for the purpose of constructing the hospital. CA Suman Singh has claimed that he had paid Rs. 3 Crore to the builder as payment for the purchase.
The ED is said to have asked the Ranchi district administration to provide all the documents related to the sale and purchase of the land. The Hospital premise spreads over 20 kattha land. But this is said to be a tribal bhuihari land that can’t be sold or purchased. The said land is part of khata number 162. The maximum land under this khata number comes under the restricted category. The record suggests that under the said khata mutation of only 13 purchases have been done.
If this is true then how a land under the restricted category was sold and purchased for commercial purposes. The ED is investigating how Abhishek Jha obtained a loan for the construction of the hospital and the documents used for this purpose.
Abhishek Jha was freed from questioning around 4 PM.
