Praises continue to shower on CUJ students for photo exhibition, film screening on second day of 4th JIFFA

Ranchi, Oct. 30: The photography and film exhibition by the students of Department of Mass Communication, Central University of Jharkhand continued to get applauds by guests on the second day of the 4th Jharkhand International Film Festival Awards 2021. The event is being organized in the Audrey House premises, Ranchi. A special session on ‘Journalism and Careers’ was also conducted for the students today.

Altogether 100 photographs of present students and alumnus of the Department of Mass Communication are being displayed in the exhibition, who are excelling in the area.

The photographs that are being displayed in the exhibition are based on various themes. The students whose photographs are selected are Rajat Raj, Ankit Raj, Kumar Aryan, Manish Shukla, Alok Kumar Pandey, Shubhangi Priya, Avinash Tirkey, and Prabhakar Mani.

Around 10 films made by students would also be screened at this film festival. These films are mostly one-minute short film to almost 15-minute documentaries. Most of the films are shortlisted and awarded in different film festivals such as National Science Film Festival, Vatavaran Award, One Minute Pune International Film Festival and Jharkhand Children’s Film Festival.

The second day of the film festival saw the presence of Hafiz-ul-Hazan, Jharkhand’s Minister of Art and Culture and Minority Welfare, who praised the students for their work. He congratulated the department for organising an event like this and proposed to support them in every possible way.

MP Sanjay Seth, visited the event too and appreciated the creativity and hard work put forward by the students.

Dr. Vimal Kishore, Dean, School of Mass Communication and Media Technologies, CUJ, while appreciating the young talents of CUJ said, ” Events like this will boost the confidence to the students and provide them with the platform helpful in presenting their creativity to the world.”

During the occasion, Padmashree Madhu Mansuri Hansmukh, Padmashree Chandra Prakash Deval, Dr. Mahua Manjhi, Sahityakar, Central President, JMM Women Cell, Braj Mohan Ram, Former M.P., Hari Narayan Singh, Sr.Journalist, Dr. Anil Thakur Suman were also present.

The photography and film exhibition in the 4th JIFFA is being coordinated by Dr. Sudarshan Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Mass Communication, and was also joined by Prof. Dr. Dev Vrat Singh, Assistant Professors; Dr. Amrit Kumar, Dr. Vinay Bhushan and other faculties of the department.

The event was inaugurated on Oct. 29 and will continue till Oct. 31, 2021.
