Panaji, March 28: Pramod Sawant takes oath as Goa Chief Minister for the second consecutive term on Monday.
PM Narendra Modi attends the oath-taking ceremony of CM-designate Pramod Sawant, at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Goa.
Along with him, BJP’s Vishwajit Rane, Mauvin Godinho, Ravi Naik, Nilesh Cabral, Subhash Shirodkar, Rohan Khaunte, Govind Gaude, & Atanasio Monserrate also took oath as Goa’s cabinet ministers.
Notably, Pramod Sawant (48) is a three-time MLA from the Sankhalim assembly constituency in the North Goa district and an Ayurveda medical practitioner. When the BJP formed administration in 2017 under Manohar Parrikar’s leadership, Sawant was elected Speaker of the state Assembly. After Parrikar’s death in March 2019, he became the next chief minister.
