New Delhi, April 26: Prashant Kishor, poll strategist, will not join the Congress, according to party spokesman Randeep Surjewala. This comes amid widespread speculation that the pollster may join the party that is keen to reclaim power in 2024.
“Following a presentation & discussions with Sh. Prashant Kishor, Congress President, has constituted an Empowered Action Group 2024 & invited him to join the party as part of the group with defined responsibility. He declined. We appreciate his efforts & suggestion given to party,” Surjewala tweeted.

Notably, Prashant Kishor met with the party’s leadership, including interim chief Sonia Gandhi, earlier this month and delivered a strategy for the 2024 elections, igniting speculation that the master strategist will join the party as a leader to help it avoid a streak of election disasters.
Following the discussion with Kishor, Sonia Gandhi organised an eight-member group to evaluate his proposals and write a report, after which a “Empowered Action Group-2024” was formed to handle the political issues and consider a restructuring of the organisation.
