President Droupadi Murmu to attend Queen Elizabeth’s funeral

New Delhi, Sept 14: President Droupadi Murmu will go to London on September 17–19 for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and to offer condolences on behalf of the Indian government.

President Droupadi Murmu will be visiting London, United Kingdom on 17-19 September 2022 to attend the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II & offer condolences on behalf of the Government of India.

Notably on September 8, Queen Elizabeth II, the former monarch of the United Kingdom and head of the Commonwealth of Nations passed away.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Murmu have all conveyed their condolences at the passing of Queen Elizabeth.

On September 12, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar paid a condolence visit to the British High Commission in New Delhi. On September 11, India also commemorated a day of national mourning.
