New Delhi: On January 28, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Budget Session of Parliament with her address to the joint sitting of both Houses. A major highlight was the mention of the newly introduced G RAM G law, aimed at guaranteeing 125 days of employment in rural areas. BJP MPs, including Prime Minister Modi, applauded the move enthusiastically. However, opposition leaders immediately raised slogans demanding the law’s withdrawal, leading to chaos in the House.

The President lauded Operation Sindoor, emphasizing India’s military strength and global recognition of its counter-terror strategy. She mentioned the destruction of terror camps and reiterated the government’s ongoing efforts under the Sudarshan Chakra Mission to bolster national security.

Despite global instability, President Murmu stated that India remains on a strong path of growth. She credited the government’s economic strategy for steering the country through turbulent times. Applauding India’s foreign policy, she said it has earned global trust and positioned the nation as a bridge between countries. She highlighted India’s advocacy for the Global South and emphasized that the ultimate goal of geopolitics should be the service of humanity.
