Deoghar, May 24: President Droupadi Murmu today offered prayer at Jyotirling Baba Baidyanath Dham. This is the third time Droupadi Murmu has offered ‘Jalaparan’ over Shivlinga in Deoghar and the first time after being elected President.
On arriving at Deoghar Airport she was warmly greeted by many dignatories that include Governor of Jharkhand C P Radhakrishnan, Central Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Agriculture Minister of Jharkhand Badal Patralekh, Godda MP Nishikant Dubey, additional chief secretary Arun Kumar Singh, DIG Santal Pargana range Sudarshan Mandal, Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri and Deoghar SP Subashchandra Jat.
Sardar Panda Gulab Nand Ojha along with the state priest of the Temple got her prayer done in the Sacred room where Shivlinga is situated.
A painted replica of President Droupadi Murmu by Sushant Vats was presented to her.
Before her, three ex-presidents had visited Deoghar to offer prayer in Baba Baidyanath Dham. The first president of India Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr Pranav Mukherji and Ram Nath Kovind visited this temple in the capacity of president.
After offering prayer, president Droupadi Murmu took off to Ranchi.
