New Delhi, Oct 2: Today, on 2nd October, the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri is being celebrated in the country.
On this day, President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered both leaders.
On the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, PM Modi and Draupadi Murmu reached Rajghat and paid floral tributes to him.
After this, the President and PM reached Vijayghat and paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri on his 119th birth anniversary by offering flowers.
Apart from PM Modi, Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, Union Ministers Dr. Jitendra Singh and Meenakshi Lekhi and other leaders visited Rajghat and Vijayghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on his their anniversaries.

May his thoughts enable every youngster be the agent of change he dreamt of, fostering unity and harmony all over,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X remembering Bapu.

PM Modi also remembered Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary. “Remembering Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji on his Jayanti.
