New Delhi, June 27: For the impending presidential elections, former Union minister Yashwant Sinha will submit his paperwork for nomination at the Parliament Building on Monday. Sharad Pawar, the head of the Nationalist Congress Party, and other politicians from the non-NDA side will accompany him.
“I have come to Delhi to join Yashwant Sinha for his nomination for the Presidential election,” Pawar said on Sunday.
The delegation that will join Sinha is anticipated to include Trinamool Congress leaders Saugata Roy, Abhishek Banerjee, and Santanu Sen, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Droupadi Murmu, a former governor of Jharkhand, is running for president as the NDA.
On June 21, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh declared that senior politician Shatrughan Sinha had been chosen unanimously to represent the opposition in the next presidential elections.
