New Delhi, June 24: Droupadi Murmu, the former governor of Jharkhand and presidential candidate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), would file her nomination today.
According to reports cited by news agency ANI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will put out her name for nomination today, and JP Nadda, the party’s national president, would support it.
According to sources of ANI, the BJP has invited all of its partners, including the chief ministers of the states governed by the NDA, to participate in the nomination ceremony.
Union ministers and BJP leaders Gen VK Singh (Retd), Bhupender Yadav & Giriraj Singh and BJD leader Dr Sasmit Patra have also arrived at the Parliament building for the nomination filing of Droupadi Murmu.
On Friday morning, Droupadi Murmu departed from Odisha Bhawan for the Parliament to present her candidacy.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived at Parliament ahead of the nomination.
Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda at Parliament Library Building in Delhi said today, “The people of the country especially the tribal community are feeling proud of the nomination of Droupadi Murmu as a presidential candidate. This is historic.”
