After the conclusion of The 50, Prime Video is gearing up to launch the second season of its high-stakes reality show The Traitors. Hosted once again by Karan Johar, the show has already begun shooting in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
Show Based On Popular Global Format
The Traitors is a psychological reality show inspired by the popular party game “Mafia” and the Dutch series De Verraders, which has seen successful adaptations in the UK, US, and Australia. The format revolves around strategy, deception, and mind games, making it one of the most intense reality formats.
Big Names Likely To Join Season 2
According to media reports, several prominent celebrities are expected to participate in the new season. The tentative list includes Shweta Tiwari, Munawar Faruqui, Elvish Yadav, Rubina Dilaik, Neha Dhupia, Abhishek Malhan, Krystle D’Souza, Parul Gulati, Rhea Chakraborty, and Dalip Tahil. However, an official confirmation from the makers is still awaited.
Bipasha Basu And Mallika Sherawat Opt Out
Earlier reports suggested that Bipasha Basu and Mallika Sherawat were approached and had initially agreed to join the show. However, both actresses have now reportedly declined to participate in the reality series.
Shooting And Gameplay Format
The shoot is expected to continue for around 14 days. The show’s format focuses on trust, betrayal, and deduction, where contestants must identify hidden “traitors” among them while safeguarding their own position in the game. In the first season, Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther emerged as winners.
