Barabanki, Oct.23: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congressgational secretary, stated seven important promises for the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2022 while kicking off the ‘Pratigya Yatra’ in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh today.
The pledges included free e-Scooty and mobile phones for schoolgirls, farm loan waivers, financial aid for underprivileged families, and relief on electricity bills, in addition to releasing 40% tickets for women candidates.
“Free e-Scooty and mobile phones for school girls, agricultural loan waiver, 25,000 per year to impoverished families, electricity bill half for all and 100% remission of unpaid electricity bills from the Covid time,” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, according to news agency ANI.
The party also aims to provide 20 lakh government employments, a minimum support price of $2500 for rice and wheat per quintal, and $400 for sugarcane per quintal to families afflicted by the Covid-19 outbreak, according to Vadra, who is the face of the UP elections next year.
Prior to the announcement, the Congress leader met with and spoke to women farmers at an agricultural farm in Barabanki. “I’m interested in learning about their (women farmers’) working conditions, how they raise their girls, and whether or not they are able to educate them,” she said.

The ‘Pratigya Yatra’ is part of the Congress’ electoral campaign for the 2022 elections in Uttar Pradesh, which will take place from October 23 to November 1. The yatra will travel across the state for 12,000 kilometres. During these rallies, various news conferences, ‘nukkad sabhas,’ temple visits, roadshows, Jan Sabhas, and other events would be held.
There will be three stages of the ‘Pratigya Yatra.’ It starts in Barabanki, Bundelkhand, and end in Jhansi, passing through Lucknow, Unnao, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur, and Jalaun.
It will begin in Saharanpur and extend to Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Badaun, Aligarh, Hathras, Agra, and Mathura in western Uttar Pradesh. The yatra will begin in Varanasi and travel via Chandauli, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, and Amethi before ending at Rae Bareli in the Awadh region.
