Daltonganj, Jan 22: Covid vaccination received a warm response in the village named Banjari in Palamu district today amid the cold winter day.
Sources said eligibles here belonging to one faith were very hesitant towards the covid vaccination.
The community health centre at Chainpur was quite concerned and cautious about this village Banjari as vaccination was a tough task here.
SDO Sadar Rajesh Kumar Sah learnt about the hesitancy towards the vaccination at Banjari and chose Friday to be there and he went to this village January 21.
Speaking to Lagatar English today, SDO Sadar said he visited this village and began meeting the elderly eligibles who looked like being ‘in two minds’. It took him an hour or so to convince them not to avoid the vaccination.
Many agreed but taking the plea of Friday Namaz, the eligibles wanted their vaccination today Saturday.
SDO sadar said he did not argue with them afterwards as they had got ready to take the jab. He and medical officer in charge of the community health centre at Chainpur Dr Chaman Kr Bhardwaj sent a team led by the ANM Parbha Kumari today to this Banjari village and here eligibles were there in the queue for the vaccination.
This correspondent today spoke to ANM Parbha Kumari who said eligibles including 15+ and 18+ are coming out of their houses.
Sources said the medical officer in charge of CHC Chainpur Dr Chaman Kumar Bhardwaj had a great sense of relief in his face as he is reported to have remarked ‘ice towards the vaccination has been melted down.’
Civil surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar had a great word of gratitude to the SDO Sadar for his selfless efforts in the vaccination saying: “Our civil SDO Sadar always gets ready to assist us in the neck break pace of the vaccination.”
