Amritsar, Feb 26: A drone that was flying into India from Pakistan was shot down by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday. According to a press release from the BSF, the drone was shot in Punjab along the international boundary.
Around 2:11 a.m. on Sunday, the unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down close to Shahjada village in Punjab’s Amritsar district.
“BSF troops deployed at the border, heard the buzzing sound of a suspected drone entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the area near Shahjada village of Amritsar district on February 26,” an official statement said.
The BSF personnel discovered a black DJI Matrice drone (manufactured in China) laying beside Dhussi Bundh near Shahjada village during the initial search. The drone was partially damaged.
Police and other concerned sister agencies were alerted, and the entire area was closed off.
