New Delhi, Jan 17: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that the AAP’s CM face for Punjab will be announced tomorrow. Kejriwal said that the Punjab CM face will be announced at 12 pm.

This comes a day after AAP MLA Harpal Singh Cheema claimed that 15 lakh people had reacted to the party’s “Janta Chunegi Apna CM” campaign.

During the drive, the party invited people to vote for their preferred chief ministerial candidate in the Punjab Assembly elections on February 14.

“In the 72 hours since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released the phone number 7074870748 to know the opinion of the people of Punjab as regards who should be the party’s chief ministerial face for the upcoming election, around 15 lakh people have voiced their views,” Cheema had said on Sunday.

Arvind Kejriwal had previously sought for suggestions on who should be the party’s chief ministerial candidate in the Punjab elections, despite the fact that his own choice for the position is Bhagwant Mann.

As the AAP began the “Janta Chunegi Apna CM” initiative, Kejriwal ruled himself out of the race, saying the name of the candidate for the top job would be released following people’s comments.

The party has launched a cellphone number where people may voice their opinions on who should be the party’s chief ministerial candidate until 5 p.m. on Monday by recording their voice and sending text or WhatsApp messages.
