New Delhi, Aug 25: The Kremlin announced on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be present in person at the G20 summit scheduled to take place in India in September.
Since the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a warrant charging the Russian President with war crimes in Ukraine, Putin now runs the prospect of being arrested when travelling abroad.
Putin participated via video link in the recently finished BRICS summit in South Africa.
The Russian president’s most recent in-person G20 summit appearance took place in Osaka, Japan, in 2019.
