Ranchi, May 30: PVUNL observed a ‘Swachhta Pakhwada 2022’ from 16th May to 30th May 2022. The main objective was to create awareness about plastic waste, its impacts, and cleanliness in and around the area.

Swachhta Pakhwada serves in connecting people to nature, enhancing those actions that make our country a better place. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi urged people to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a Clean India. The ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ is a massive mass movement that seeks to create a clean India.

To commence the fortnight, a Swachhta Pledge was administered by Shri Prem Parkash, CEO (PVUN), in the presence of Shri Neeraj Mittal, GM(C&M), Shri S.K. Panda, GM(Project), Shri Neeraj Kumar Roy (HoHR), Shri Sipan Garg (CFO), and other senior officials of PVUN Ltd.

The pledge aimed to maintain cleanliness and achieve a clean country and a clean world. An awareness rally followed the pledge. This rally aimed to educate people about the importance of cleanliness, the segregation of waste, and plastic’s havoc on the environment. Shri Prem Parkash, CEO (PVUN), and other officials commenced the rally from the Admin Building and walked across the project towards the Safety Park.

The workers also joined in with banners to spread awareness regarding SWACHHTA at this rally. A clean and green environment is a fundamental ideology in sustainable development.  Hence, PVUN officials came forward for a three-day-long cleanliness drive.

During this drive, they made people aware of the importance and methods of handling waste responsibly and taking a step toward a cleaner environment. The officials took it upon themselves to clean the areas around the plant, residential hostel, and hospital in this drive.

A two-day long tree plantation drive took place to instill the values of nurturing nature with teamwork and the importance of the environment. In this drive, 40 saplings were planted across the PSTTP Health Centre by Shri Prem Parkash, CEO (PVUN), Shri Neeraj Mittal, GM(C&M), and Shri S.K. Panda, GM(Project), Shri Neeraj Kumar Roy (HoHR) and other senior officials of PVUN Ltd. In all, 25 saplings were planted by the Swarnrekha Mahila Samiti in the residential area.

To ensure proper health and sanitisation, PVUN ltd also distributed 20 dustbins to the local vendors. During this, Shri Neeraj Kumar Roy (HoHR) emphasised the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and appealed to the vendors to be vigilant about waste management. With high enthusiasm, the internal stakeholders also participated in competitions like Essay Writing, Slogan Writing, Quiz, Drawing and Debate while concluding the pakhwada on 30th May 2022 with new learning and spreading the word of ‘Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat’.
