Ranchi: The Jharkhand Police Headquarters has introduced a WhatsApp number (8809692001) for the quick resolution of public complaints. This initiative aims to streamline the grievance redressal process and ensure swift action. A dedicated nodal officer, the DSP of the PG branch at Police Headquarters, has been appointed to monitor the complaints received on this platform.

How the System Will Work

The DSP will maintain a separate register for all complaints received via WhatsApp. These complaints will then be forwarded to the relevant district or unit for appropriate action. The introduction of this system is intended to expedite the complaint resolution process, ensuring that issues are addressed more effectively.

Statewide Public Complaint Program Held

In an earlier effort to address public grievances, Jharkhand Police organized a public complaint redressal program across all districts. The program, which began on September 10 under the directive of DGP Anurag Gupta, focused on 18 major issues raised by the public. The main goal of this initiative was to provide quick solutions to actionable complaints and showcase the best practices implemented by the police.

The program also aimed at understanding citizens’ concerns and implementing necessary policy reforms in the policing system to improve service and responsiveness.
