Patna: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav made an unexpected stop at a roadside dhaba in Purnia during the INDIA bloc’s voter rights yatra on Sunday. The leaders enjoyed tea, Maggi, and Kurkure at “Apna Dhaba” in Garhbanaili, leaving locals and shopkeepers stunned to see national figures dining casually at a small eatery.
Half-Hour Halt at Apna Dhaba
Rahul Gandhi, joined by allies Mukesh Sahni, Pappu Yadav, and others, spent nearly 30 minutes at the popular roadside outlet. Dhaba owner Amrit Kumar Sah and staff member Surendra Kumar Poddar expressed their astonishment, saying they never imagined leaders of such stature would eat at their shop. The dhaba, known for its local flavors for the past 13 years, witnessed a huge crowd of villagers gathering to catch a glimpse of the leaders.
Simple Meal, Generous Gesture
The leaders ordered tea, Maggi, and Kurkure, which the staff quickly prepared. The bill for the refreshments came to around ₹100, but Rahul Gandhi paid ₹1,000, also embracing the dhaba staff and asking about their well-being. Locals were left amazed by the down-to-earth interaction.
Rahul Gandhi Rides a Bullet
As part of the yatra, Rahul Gandhi was also seen riding a Bullet motorcycle with Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Ram riding pillion. A large convoy of Congress workers on motorcycles followed him, adding energy and visibility to the campaign.
