Today, a cloudburst also occurred in Dharmshala, causing landslides in the region. Early this morning, a flash flood hit the Mandi area of the state, flooding homes and businesses, locking people inside, and wrecking cars that were parked on the road. The incident had an impact on locations in the district at Balh, Sadar, Thunag, Mandi, and Lamathach.

In the districts of Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi, schools have been closed as a result of excessive rainfall.

Heavily rainy conditions are expected in a few isolated areas today in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra, Chamba, Bilaspur, Sirmaur, and Mandi districts, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The rivers and streams should not be approached during inclement weather, both for locals and visitors.

A landslide alert has been issued by the disaster management division of Himachal Pradesh due to the state’s heavy rain forecast until August 25.
