Jamshedpur, Dec 28: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre this afternoon issued a nowcast ( short- term) forecast of rain, thunder, and lightning in northwestern parts of Jharkhand especially Garhwa and Latehar.
Weathermen said a western disturbance passing through northern parts of the country would result in light to moderate rain in various parts of Jharkhand in the next 24 hours.
Rain forecast was also issued beyond 24 hours for some parts of the northeastern region of Jharkhand.
” Several districts are likely to witness seasonal rain during the next two days due to the western disturbance passing through northern parts of the country. Some places might witness lightning and thunder, ” said Abhishek Anand, head of Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
The adverse weather resulted in an abrupt rise in minimum readings across the state.
Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and several other places today experienced minimum temperatures hovering between 14-15 degree Celsius.
Several districts also encountered fog and mist which hampered visibility.
