New Delhi, Sept 27: Sachin Pilot has arrived in Delhi amid the political crisis in Rajasthan around the leadership transition, and he is likely to see Congress president Sonia Gandhi there.

Meanwhile, Sonia Gandhi will receive a written report on the events in Rajasthan by this evening from the two observers from the Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken, who had travelled to Jaipur in an effort to mediate a cease-fire between the Gehlot side and the Pilot faction.

Meanwhile, Congress MLAs supporting Sachin Pilot for Chief Minister’s post arrive at his residence in Jaipur.

“The party’s top leadership is restructuring the organisation for the 2023 elections here. Top leadership will decide (CM face),” said MLA Khiladi Lal Bairwa.

Notably, in Rajasthan, more than 90 MLAs are actively working to prevent Pilot from succeeding Ashok Gehlot as Chief Minister. According to insiders, Gehlot, who is accused of “humiliating” the Congress, is also set to travel to Delhi and see Sonia Gandhi.

A question mark has been raised about Gehlot’s involvement in the party’s presidential elections due to the public defiance of Gandhi by his supporters. But since everything is still up in the air, sources said today that he might still be a contender.
