Jamshedpur, Aug 19: Union railway minister Ashwani Vaishnav on August 14 had flagged off the new Tejas rake of the Rajdhani Express from Bhubaneswar station.
It was an inaugural run. While the East Coast Railway formally started the regular run of the train from August 19, today.
The facility of Tejas rake has been started in Bhubaneshwar – Rajdhani Express running via Sambalpur-Rourkela-Chakradharpur-Anara. On the other hand, Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express running via Tatanagar and Adra will be operated with LHB rack only.
The Bhubaneswar- New Delhi Rajdhani Express (20817) goes to New Delhi once a week on every Saturday via Sambalpur-Rourkela-Chakradharpur-Anara- Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jn. (Gomo).
On the other hand, every Sunday from New Delhi to Bhubaneshwar Rajdhani Express (120818 ) goes to Bhubaneshwar via Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (Gomo), Anara, Chakradharpur Raulkela-Sambalpur.
Presently Tejas rake is being used in this Rajdhani Express.
Bhubaneswar – New Delhi Rajdhani Express travels four days a week via Hijli-Tata-Muri-Bokaro-Gomo, two days via Hijli-Adra and one day via Sambalpur-Rourkela-Chakradharpur to New Delhi.
But, currently Tejas rake is being used in Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express going via Sambalpur-Rourkela-Chakradharpur.
Railway sources in East Coast Railway said after the arrival of Tejas rake, the LHB rake will be removed from the Rajdhani Express running via Adra and Via Tata.
The ticket fare of the train running with Tejas rack will be five percent more than the Rajdhani Express with LHB rack.
The Tejas- Rajdhani is a semi high- speed train.
Railway introduced Bhubaneswar-New Delhi- Rajdhani Express with Tejas rakes to enhance safety and passengers travel experience.
