Chennai, Oct 29: Superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Thursday, underwent carotid artery revascularization on Friday.
As per the information given in the medical bulletin issued by the hospital, Rajinikanth is recovering well after the carotid endarterectomy which is a surgical procedure that removes plaque from the inside of a patient’s carotid artery in order to restore normal blood flow to the brain.
Notably, Rajinikanth, who was in New Delhi a few days back to receive the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to India Cinema, had gone for a routine checkup on Thursday, where he later had to be admitted.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin wished the superstar a speedy recovery. “Get well soon…,” the Chief Minister said, conveying his wishes to the actor for an early recovery.
