New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed profound sorrow on Tuesday over the death of five Army personnel during a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. Singh conveyed his condolences and reiterated the ongoing efforts to restore peace and order in the region.

On Monday, a heavily armed terrorist group ambushed a patrolling party in the Badnota area of Kathua, resulting in the tragic loss of five soldiers and injuring several others. Singh took to social media platform X to express his grief and support for the affected families.

“I am deeply anguished at the loss of five of our brave Indian Army soldiers in a terrorist attack in Badnota, Kathua (J&K),” Singh posted on X. “My deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the nation stands firm with them in this difficult time. The counter-terrorist operations are underway, and our soldiers are determined to usher in peace and order in the region.”

Singh also wished for a swift recovery for those injured in the attack. “I pray for a speedy recovery to those who sustained injuries in this dastardly terror attack,” he added.

The Defence Minister’s statements underscore the resilience and dedication of the Indian Army as they continue their efforts to combat terrorism and ensure stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
