Ranchi, Sept.9: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) today asked Governor Ramesh Bais to disclose the content of the communication between the Raj Bhawan and the Election Commission of India which has caused suspense in the political circle since August 25.

Party general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya addressing a press conference, said during a meeting with a UPA delegation on September 1, the governor had promised to clear the air within two days but despite elapse of seven days and his six-day Delhi visit the promise had not been fulfilled and suspense taking the content of the letter from the ECI continues and this is not healthy for democracy in which perception also plays a vital role.

Asked whether it is justified to mount pressure on the Raj Bhawan when it is not expected from a litigant to mount pressure on judiciary to deliver judgement, JMM spokesperson Bhattacharya said the governor is not a tribunal but a person who works on the advice of the state cabinet and gives advice if required. Even the government has to send its opinion to the Election Commission of India as the latter is a tribunal, Bhattacharya clarified.

Asked why the JMM is worried about taking the matter of communication, Bhattacharya said ‘Rajpath’ has become ‘Kartavya Path’ but ‘Raj Bhawan’ still exists.

During Chintan Shivir the BJP had expressed its concern over demographic change in Jharkhand. On which Bhattacharya said the BJP is responsible for the same as demography has not changed in only eight years and the party has to clarify the same.

Bhattacharya said if the party is so worried about demography it should think about Sarna religion code and explain how come Adani Power Plant is being established to supply power to Bangladesh.

The JMM spokesperson, on the occasion, also paid its tribute to the departing soul of British Queen Elizabeth II and welcomed Prince Charles as King.

Bhattacharya parried reply on Basant Soren’s statement saying he had gone to Delhi to purchase innerwear and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey terming JMM a Muslim party and requested media persons to restrain them from asking question on personal life and personal opinion of a person.
