New Delhi, Feb 2: The Rajya Sabha will debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s address today following Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s presentation of the Union Budget yesterday.
During the debate on the president’s address, which is a statement of government policy produced by the government, members raise issues. Today’s agenda also includes a discussion on the Union Budget.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered the budget yesterday. She said the budget will build the framework for India’s economic growth and progress for the next 25 years as she presented the Union Budget 2022-23.
She said that India is well-positioned to face future problems and the government’s priority will be on increasing public investment to modernise infrastructure.
Parliament’s Budget Session is set to expire on April 8, with the first portion of the session lasting until February 11.
