Ramgarh, Feb 6: A 50-year-old man allegedly raped a nine-year-old girl in Sayal under the Bhurkunda police station area in Ramgarh. The incident took place on Friday at 3 pm and was reported to the police on Sunday.
Notably. the child was playing outside the house when the accused, Dinesh Pandey, took the girl inside the house and raped her. The girl herself has made such an allegation in her application at the Bhurkunda police station.
Among the family members, the girl’s maternal grandfather said that the application has been given to the police station and it was told that after the incident, bleeding and pain from her private part was not stopping. She then informed her mother about the whole incident.
The child is now living at her maternal grandfather’s house. Medicine etc was provided to the child.
On Saturday, an attempt was made at the local level to solve the matter but the matter reached the police station. After this, on Sunday, the girl was sent to Ramgarh Sadar Hospital for a medical test by Bhurkunda police.
As soon as the police were informed, the accused fled away leaving Sayal. The accused is reportedly a priest of the area.
The Bhurkunda police station in-charge Amit Kumar said that an investigation is going on after registering a case under POCSO Act. Efforts are on to nab the accused.
