Ramgarh, Feb 26: Barkagaon MLA representative cum Congress leader Raj kishore Bauri alias Bidka, a resident of Tipla Basti of Bhurkunda OP area under Ramgarh district, was shot dead by three criminals on Saturday night, two days ahead of a bypoll in the district.
According to information, Rajkishore was talking to someone on mobile on Saturday night near a petrol pump, about 100 meters away from his house. Meanwhile, three youths riding a bike came and started firing.
In the rapid firing, Rajkishore was hit by three-four bullets in his head. Apart from this, five bullets have been fired into the chest and stomach. Seeing the people gathering at the sound of gunfire, the three criminals ran away from the spot firing seven-eight rounds in the air.
Bhurkunda OP police reached on the information of the incident, the local people took the 35-year-old Congress leader to CCL hospital in Bhurkunda where doctors declared him brought dead.
Following the murder of Bidka Bauri, MLA Amba Prasad and former minister Yogendra Saw reached the hospital.
Notably, the bypoll to the Ramgarh assembly constituency will be held on February 27 and the counting of votes will take place on March 2.
