Ramgarh, May 26: A case of two ANMs demanding a bribe from the father of a woman who delivered her baby at a Ramgarh CHC has come to the fore.
There was a fierce debate between the ANM and the family members of the woman for not giving the money. In this regard, Mahabir Rajak, a resident of Lipian village, has given a written complaint to the medical in charge.
He said,” My daughter Usha Kumari was admitted to the CHC on May 24 after suffering labour pain. A normal delivery took place at 12:55 pm. After the delivery, ANM Pratibha Kumari and Baby Kumari started demanding Rs 1200 from me in return for the delivery.”
“Not only this, the cleaning worker was separately demanding Rs 600. I had only Rs 800 and gave it to them. Seeing less money, they threw away the money saying they will not take even a single rupee less,” Mahabir Rajak added.
After getting information, local people and the block twenty-point president reached the CHC. Mahabir informed Ramgarh Civil Surgeon Prabhat Kumar about the matter who then ordered the medical in-charge for an investigation.
On seeing the matter deteriorating, the ANMs threatened Mahabir. He has also given a complaint copy to the Block Twenty Point President and appealed to take strict action against the guilty.
In this regard, medical in-charge Mantu Kumar said that the application of the victim has been received and action will be taken after proper investigation.
